  • Club volleyball is a competitive program where players train and compete outside of their school teams, often at the highest levels available for junior volleyball. It provides athletes with opportunities for advanced skill development, structured tournament play, and exposure to college recruitment. Teams are organized by age group and skill level, with a season that runs approximately mid-November through late May.

  • You will receive instructions on how to officially affiliate with RTB Volleyball, along with the additional forms and steps required. You will be required to read, agree to, sign, and return a player contract along with your first payment in order to lock in your spot. Following that, you will begin receiving communications from both the club director and your team coach regarding practice schedules, tournaments, and everything in between. Read every email carefully and promptly - some will be time-sensitive.

  • No. When you accept an offer to join an RTB Volleyball team, you are making a financial commitment to the club, your coaches, and - most importantly - your teammates. For every player who receives an offer, several others were not selected. Players will be required to register and make an initial payment within a designated window. Failure to do so risks forfeiting your offer.

  • Yes. When a player and her family accept an offer, they are making a commitment not only to RTB and the coaching staff, but to every other player on the team. For a player to develop individually, and for a team to develop as a unit, consistent participation is essential. Players will be asked to sign a contract reflecting that commitment. Attendance, attitude, and effort are core expectations at RTB Volleyball.

  • RTB Volleyball will make every effort to have all teams at the same tournaments where possible. Each team can expect 8–12 tournaments during the season, including a mix of 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day events. Most will be within an hour of Northern Virginia, though some may require up to four hours of travel and overnight stays. As teams are accepted into specific tournaments, the schedule will be updated on this page.

  • Yes. Every team is required to provide work crews throughout tournament days - including referees, scorers, and line judges. This is standard practice across all USAV-affiliated competition and is actually a valuable experience. As a referee or scorer, players get a close-up view of how other teams compete, reinforce their knowledge of the game, and develop observation skills that translate directly to their own play. All players will be expected to complete online referee and scorer training, which coaches will walk you through.

  • Contact us at info@rtbsports.com before the tryout window and explain the situation. We will do our best to accommodate scheduling conflicts for players who are genuinely interested in joining RTB. We don't want a scheduling issue to stand between a great player and their opportunity - but please reach out early, not the day before.

  • Beyond helping with transportation and logistics, your most important job is simple: be your athlete's biggest cheerleader. Regardless of what the scoreboard says, support and encouragement from a parent is one of the most powerful motivators a young athlete can have. RTB's coaching staff will handle the coaching and volleyball instruction - your job is to cheer them on. There will also be volunteer opportunities for a team parent to help coordinate communication and facilitate team events for families who want to be more involved.

  • For the 2026–2027 season, RTB Volleyball plans to field teams in the 13U through 18U age groups, with additional age groups TBD. Age group eligibility is determined by USA Volleyball guidelines based on a player's birthdate as of July 1st of the current year. See our Program page for a full age group breakdown.
